I have never worked with website designs, or websites in the past. I was given a task of producing a safe and helpful website for the business I work for. All the other staff had never worked online, and my boss thought I had the most experience. But honestly, I probably had none.
I was given a job as the website host it was called webs.com. My boss had already produced the domain I was going to work with. Since I had broadband access at home, I was determined to work at the website at work and home, since the project was a big one and finishing it would relieve a lot off pressure of my shoulders. I looked up tutorials on how to make websites professionally. I recall a really good website with people willing to email me tutorials on how to add things like videos, tabs and HTML to the website. Web access was really important to me because my job included hard work like lifting, building and smashing.
Two weeks after I was given the project, I started on my first tab. The tab was called About Us. To me that is the most important tab because it explains all the details of my bosses' business. I wrote all our staff member's details like email addresses and their dedication to the customer. I also wrote not to send junk email to our staff's email addresses under my bosses' request.
I was lucky to have broadband because in the past, I had dial-up and I couldn't watch videos because of the slow speeds dial-up offered. I had finished working on the About Us tab. My boss finally helped me develop the website. I finished the Contact Us, About Us, General Information and Improvements tab. My boss had agreed to finish the rest of the other tabs. I received a lot of junk email, after I had requested not to spam the staff.
The customers were mostly friendly, most of them writing improvements or comments. All the staff had web access, so they had to do little things like finding pictures etc etc, since they couldn't do anything else. When the long project was finally finished, I was proud of what the other staff and I had finished.
At the end of the project, I learned two valuable things. First off, I needed broadband and web access to perform my job at the best I can. Secondly, I learned people can truly send junk email and spam to people's email addresses for their enjoyment and laughter.
